I caught a bit of Anderson Cooper, the one with the prematurely white hair and mother of fame, talking to Adele on television. He made a big point of the fact that she didn’t look like any other singer currently enjoying the limelight to the extent that she is.

She was quite candid when she said, yes, I am a plus size, and he went on to ask if she considered herself a role model for (overweight) teenagers. She looked puzzled (read my mind, fuckwit) and said no, she never thinks of her appearance. She thinks of her music. She has made it without the pathetic gimmickry of Madonna and la Gag(ga).

Why should anyone be a role model just because they are famous? What exactly is he implying? Does he consider himself a role model for prematurely aging men? Does his trip to Africa as a young man and his comment that  ”Africa was a place to forget and be forgotten in.” — does that make him a role model for racism? What a dickhead.

And while I am on the topic of the Grammys, and music, and the demise of Whitney what’s her name…if I hear the wail of “And aye aye will always…” I am going to throw up.
